THE PATH
TO YOUR POTENTIAL:
There is a path out there that few even consider,
let alone have the courage to take. It is a path that will
lead you to the limits of your own potential. The decision
to start down this path is one that was made long before now.
Because deep within, you've always known that you have more
to offer than just a degree, more to offer than just 40 hours
a week. Maybe this feeling is nothing more than ambition or
an eagerness to accomplish greater things. Or perhaps you
are indeed one of the few with the mettle to lead Marines.
Leading Marines is one of the most challenging
endeavors a person can choose to undertake. Because to stand
in front of the smartest, toughest, most elite military force
in the world, rank is not enough. You will also need unflinching
courage, strength and character. These traits are not taught
or handed out, they must be earned. You do this by attending
both Officer Candidates School and The Basic School, the most
intense officer training program on earth. This is where your
potential becomes your only limit, where you find what you
are truly made of, and where you may one day utter the words,
"Follow me."
A CAREFULLY CONSIDERED DECISION:
As you pause to ponder your future, know that
the United States Marine Corps is not a place to simply brush
up on your leadership skills. It is not a finishing school
or your ticket to far-away lands. It is the finest military
organization in the world. It demands the most of its members
and returns the same. Those who become Marine Officers believe
there is something within that sets them apart. It is a longing
to stand taller, go farther, and leave limits and expectations
behind. Every time they consider the future, they feel confident
that something great lies just beyond the horizon. And tomorrow
is always an opportunity to achieve greatness. If you are
familiar with this desire, if you posses the intangible qualities
of the Marine Officer, perhaps one day you will be counted
among the few and the proud.
